Font alignment issues with Japanese text in IE 11

Problem

Meiryo UI is the "standard" Japanese font that our CSS specifies as one of its font-family fallbacks. If you do not have it on your system, you may get a different font which may lead to alignment issues.

Solution

Provide steps that the user can take to solve the problem. For example "The level 7 printer will flash red when it is out of paper. Add paper to tray 1".

How to install fonts that are missing on Windows 10:

  1. Click Start > Settings.
  2. In Settings, click Time & language, and then click Region & language.
  3. If Japanese is not included in the list of languages, click the plus sign (+) to add a language.
  4. Find Japanese, and then click it to add it to your language list.
